Cameron Simpson was born on April 20, 1960 in Asheville, North Carolina. Practicing law comes naturally to Cameron. Her father was a partner of the law firm of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer and Murphy in Atlanta Georgia. Cameron grew up in Atlanta and followed her father into the practice of law. She graduated from Riverwood High School in 1978 with honors and was a member of the National Honor Society. She attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated in 1982. Immediately following graduation, Cameron enrolled in Mercer University Law School in Macon, Georgia. She was a member of the Mercer Law Review Editorial Board from 1983 to 1985. She graduated from Mercer Law School cum laude and within the top ten of her class. Following graduation from law school, Cameron returned to Atlanta in1985 to litigate with the firm of Swift, Currie, McGhee, and Hires, a law firm specializing in insurance defense litigation. While at Swift, Currie, McGhee and Hires, Cameron litigated workers’ compensation cases throughout the state of Georgia. In 1991 Cameron moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida to the plaintiff’s law firm of Simpson and Simpson where she was a partner responsible for personal injury, social security disability and workers, compensation litigation. In 2001 Cameron established her own firm of Cameron D. Simpson, PA focusing on the practice of automobile accidents, personal injury, premises liability, social security, disability, worker’s compensation and wrongful death litigation. She devotes her efforts to representing accident victims and disabled individuals.

During her more than 33 years as an attorney, Cameron has practiced law in jury trials, hearings, mediations, depositions and recorded statements throughout Northwest Florida with special attention to Okaloosa, Walton, Escambia and Santa Rosa counties where she is member of those county Bar Associations. She served as the Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee for Okaloosa and Walton Counties from 2000 to 2003. She has the distinctive AV rating from Martindale- Hubbell, the highest award signifying preeminence and ethical integrity given by her peers in the practice of Law.

Cameron is a member of the Shalimar United Methodist Church. She is a wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She and her husband, Burt Griffin, have been married since 1988, and they reside in Shalimar, Florida. Cameron and Burt are the proud parents of their son, McKennon Griffin. McKennon attended Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and graduated from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. McKennon received academic and tennis scholarships to Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina. He graduated from Barton College in May 2017 and a member of the Barton College Men’s Tennis Team.

Cameron is an avid supporter of the local Choctawhatchee High School Indians football and cheerleading teams. She is a sponsor for PAWS (Panhandle Animal Welfare Society) for Wounded Warriors, a charity that provides therapy dogs for injured soldiers. She also represents numerous clients with therapy dogs. She is a former sponsor of the Choctawhatchee Tennis Team and Shalimar Little League.

Cameron regularly engages in hiking, kayaking and snow skiing. Cameron in a member of the Porsche Club of America, and her favorite sports are Formula 1 racing, SEC (Southeastern Conference) football, and ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) tennis.
